Staff Expertise
Our team of employee benefit plan auditor specialists stays current in this highly technical practice area by attending various continuing education programs including the annual AICPA National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans and other relevant seminars and by reviewing publications from the Profit Sharing/401k Council of America, United States Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration and the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center.

Our Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice Leader, Phillip C. Dalrymple is a certified public accountant licensed in California and Arizona. Phil has 16 years of public accounting experience and began his career with Coopers & Lybrand in Tucson where he worked on a large variety of clients including not-for-profit, financial services, and real estate entities, and employee benefit plans. After two years, Phil transferred to the Los Angeles office of Coopers & Lybrand where he worked extensively as a manager in the Not-for-Profit, Construction, Financial Services and Pension Plan Groups. While at Coopers & Lybrand in Los Angeles, Phil was the lead manager for the ERISA Job Shop practice. As the lead manager for the ERISA Job Shop, Phil managed and completed over 30 employee benefit plan audits annually and performed technical reviews of numerous other employee benefit plan financial statements and Form 5500 filings. In conjunction with the audit services provided, Phil assisted several employee benefit plans with implementation of a voluntary compliance program and provided recommendations to make operational design improvements. Phil has performed audits for a wide variety of plans including: 401(k) savings plans, non-contributory defined contribution plans, money purchase pension plans, multi-employer plans, target-benefit defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans and plans subject to Security Exchange Commission filing requirements.
